Some Good Exercises and Stretches for Intoeing Walking

Trying to collect some good exercises and stretches to improve hip internal rotation since DD have a bit of an in-toeing problem.

This looks like a helpful (and fun) activities for a child to do:

Physiotherapy for Children’s Intoeing

Stretches

  • Squat hold with toes turned outward
  • Split hold on heels
  • Butterfly: pulses, hold, then press
  • Hamstring one leg, turn toes outward
  • Long sitting hold toes outward

Exercises

  • Squat with toes turned outward
  • Walk sideways with mini squat and with toes turned outward
  • Walk forward and backward with mini squat and with toes turned outward
  • Step up keeping toes turned outward
  • Jumping jacks with a triangle-shaped rope for a visual cue
  • Walk with heels on a line
  • Kick a ball with inner foot
  • Kick a baloon with upper foot
