Ginger Turmeric Tea

This is a simple recipe to make ginger turmeric tea. This version does not have any sugar.

If you take any medications, please consult your doctor first before consuming this. Turmeric has some blood thinning properties and may interact with medications. Piperine in black pepper may also increase absorption of medicine and that may not be a good thing.

Ginger Turmeric Tea (Unsweetened)

Ginger Turmeric Tea

Cook Time 10 minutes
Total Time 20 minutes
Servings 1 cup

Ingredients
  

  • 1 tsp fresh grated ginger root (½ tsp if using powdered form)
  • 1 tsp fresh grated turmeric root (½ tsp if using powdered form)
  • ¼ tsp black pepper (to increase curcumin absorption)

Instructions
 

  • Heat 8-10 oz of water to a boil and turn the heat to low just to let it simmer.
  • Add ginger and turmeric.

  • Add black pepper.
  • Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and let it cool (or at least warm) before serving.
